Did Not Expect the Relevance...

This article caught my eye, but given it was discussing a 17th century book about the son of Odysseus I was not expecting it to be so relevant to my recent post. 

While this quote is not quite as relevant, it fits some of my other posts.

"Fénelon’s Pygmalion also anticipates a central finding of modern scholarship on authoritarian rule: Hyper-concentration of power often leads to narrower advisory circles, distorted information flows, and increasingly brittle decision-making. The result is something of a recurrent paradox — even as personalist rulers become more powerful, they also become less capable of accurately perceiving the world around them."
